Brodie’s Seaport

Brodie’s Seaport

The burger at Brodie’s Seaport was a throwback to burgers before burgers got fancy. It’s an average burger in every way: an under seasoned basic beef patty, a slightly stale brioche bun, an impossibly thin slice of American cheese and a side of steak fries. The burger was a little under, but the fries were good and crispy (they weren’t helped by the off-brand ketchup, though). It’s a burger that you’ll forget about before you even finish it (if you finish it,) but it’s not bad for $10 (Thursday night burger special).

Brodie’s Seaport is a traditional pub geared at regulars and boomers (and boomers who are regulars) but they were very welcoming and the service was friendly and attentive. There was some form of video trivia going on, which literally no one was playing. Brodie’s has a good location and even has some outdoor space. If you think burger (and American) culture peaked in the ‘80s, then Brodie’s is the place for you!

The Search Continues…

The historic city of Salem, Massachusetts is best known for the infamous Witch Trials of 1692. Less well known is the fact that Salem’s most favorite son, famed American author Nathaniel Hawthorne, is considered by many to be the inventor of the hamburger.

We’ve decided to honor Hawthorne’s legacy with a search for Salem’s finest burger. Over a million people visit Salem each year and they all ask the same question – “where’s the legal weed shop?” – and then they look for a great burger. Well, look no further, as we’ve already done the looking for you.
